“Success is not completing the practice but coming back to it.”
I recently read this quote in my feed today, and I agree with it wholeheartedly. There are so many times when we come up with huge goals, only to plan, plan, plan, and fall short of actually executing to perfection.
Maybe you set a goal to write 1,000 words a day.
You might write 1,000 words on Monday, then your motivation fades and you get to 850 words on Tuesday.
Your motivation and output wanes back and forth every day.
Now you may not have hit your intended word count every day, but what matters most is that you keep coming back to your writing practice. That you keep giving it another go every day.
The same goes with people who try to start a meditation practice, fitness routine, or diet.
Understanding this definition of success: that to me is having patience with yourself, knowing you’re in it for the long haul.
