Acting like myself all along

I was eating some cereal on my balcony today overlooking the streets of Los Angeles.

I noticed some parents and their kids who were dressed up either similar to their parents, or completely in their pajamas.

It made me think back to when I was a kid, I would always complain to my mom about wearing the clothes she demanded I wear for family gatherings.

I don’t know if it was because the clothes themselves were lame, or if I just hated being told what to do.

This trend continued into adulthood.

I always have been the one to make my own decisions and seek independence from my parents.

It’s funny to see how we carry the trends of childhood into adulthood, yet it only gets more complicated from this point forward.
