These two sentences will redefine your productivity
“Every action that brings a person closer to her goals is productive. Every action that does not bring a person closer to her goals is not productive.”
-The Goal by Eliyahu Goldratt
In a time where people are so obsessed with productivity, I’ve found this statement to be a much simpler definition.
You can do a lot of things, but if they aren’t moving you towards the goals you define for yourself, then it’s all for show. At that point, you may be doing it to trick others, or perhaps to distract yourself.
The real challenge in life is defining what goals we want to undertake.
Once we do that, we can be honest with ourselves about what is productive and what is not.
